Beauty Tricks Learned From The Craziest Instagram Looks

Instagram. It’s the social media outlet that allows us to get insanely yet wonderfully personal with some of our favorite beauty heroes. It's the feed we peruse to find out the products these gurus love on the daily. And, it’s a goldmine for truly jaw-dropping beauty transformations, courtesy of some serious makeup mavens.

Exciting, yes. But practical? Unfortunately not. A lot of these transformations are too difficult to achieve at home as a whole. But, no need to throw in the makeup brush, they each contain some helpful beauty tricks that would work IRL. You just have to break down the look down and see it detail by detail. And, we did just that.

We scrolled through the feeds of some of our fave makeup masters in search of real-girl makeup tips, so you don’t have to. Peep our slideshow to learn some fun, expert Insta-inspired tricks to try out, stat.

Here’s the deal: No one needs to alter their features to be beautiful. But sometimes, it can be crazy fun to experiment, whether in the form of colored contact lenses or a contoured schnoz. For the latter, take a page out of the gorgeous Miss Fame’s book and use an eye shadow brush to sweep bronzer down the sides of the nose, and blend like your life depends on it. Et voilà! An entirely new look, er, nose.

Got five minutes and three to four shades of liquid eyeliner? Line ‘em up in rainbow order and apply one after another, starting from the inner corner of the eye. The key is swiping each on while the previous shade is still wet — this allows the colors to blend together. Feeling lazy? Just sweep on a bright liquid liner to mix things up, sans effort.

Speaking of colorful eyes, did you know they can also be a great place to incorporate red? And, no, you won’t immediately look like you’ve contracted pink eye. As long as your lines are crisp and your blending is on point, everyone will know it was totally purposeful — and super glam.

This writer can attest to how, well, wrong it can feel to don a pink lip alongside pink tresses. TBH, though, it’s time to throw that law out the window. But, don’t just take my word for it: Let the always-impressive Linda Hallberg show you how it’s done. Those lilac strands AND shimmering purple eyes? To die for.

@lindahallbergs

Most of our mothers drilled this rule into our heads, but if this look won’t change your mind, we don’t know what will. You can take it down a notch, though, with slightly more subdued cut creasing, or ditch the inner eye crystals.

Hallelujah — freckles are finally in vogue! And, you don't have to be blessed with them naturally to get the look. It’s as easy as taking your brow product to your nose and cheeks. And, though we adore Jordan Hanz’s subtle-freckles-and-bright-lip combo, if you want to go more natural, keep lips nude.

@jordanhanz

All right, we get it: Thick, clean brows are universally beloved. It doesn’t take Amy Doan’s all-out transformation to switch up your brow game, though. Dip an angled brush in your favorite metallic, cream eye shadow, and apply like you would your everyday brow product. People won’t be able to stop staring — in a good way, of course.

@shrinkle

Gotta give it to our drag sisters on this one — they’re the masters of sculpting features that, well, don’t already exist. Whatever way you identify, and whether you’ve currently got boobs or not (we’re not judging either way!), a good liquid bronzer between your tatas is the key to creating some serious cleavage. Again, make sure to blend!

@lexi_prex

Despite bright, mermaid-esque hair colors being crazy trendy right now, going there usually means bleaching first — and lots of damage, to boot. Beauty superstar Raye Boyce, however, found a fab solution in the form of Jerome Russell Bwild Color Spray. Hero status!

Whether you’re obsessed with gel nails or all about classic manis, there’s nothing more obnoxious than that grown-out space between your polish and cuticles after a week or so. Extend the life of your lacquer by painting on half-moons at the base of nails, and then applying a topcoat. Check out Fleury Rose’s stellar manicure for inspiration — so chic!
